Bulldogs Open the 2016-17 Season with a 2nd Place Finish at Findlay Duals

The 2016-17 Olmsted Falls wrestling team got back in action Saturday at the Findlay Trojan Duals at Findlay High School. The Bulldogs went 3-0 in the preliminary matches with Impressive wins over Lima Bath 63-15, Rossford 55-20, and Eaton 42-21.

In the semi-final draw the bulldogs faced host Findlay, who was clinging to a 29-28 lead with only the 126-pound match remaining. Olmsted Falls’ Jihad Salti scored a takedown and two-point nearfall in both the first and second periods before scoring a pin against Findlay’s Jaden Johnson in 3:35 to seal the win and a trip to the finals with a 34-29 victory over the Trojans

The Bulldogs finished 2nd out of the 16 team field with a 4-1 record falling to Napoleon 40-30 in the Championship.
